It’s almost time for Valentine’s Day! If you haven’t already gotten a gift for that someone special in your life why don’t you treat them to breakfast in bed! Breakfast in bed can be delicious, creative and very sexy. This isn’t some old tired box of chocolates but a gift that is made with love straight from the heart. You don’t even have to be a great chef to pull this Valentine gift off. Below is a list of creative, fun and tasty breakfast in bed ideas that will have your loved one wanting you for dessert!

Fresh Fruit for the Dipping

This idea is nothing new, but certainly always a top choice. A bowl of strawberries, pineapple and some sliced mango with whipped cream, melted chocolate and caramel dipping sauces. Is this reminding anyone of Mickey Rourke and Kim Basinger in 9 ½ weeks? Well, this could be happening in your bedroom. Lock the doors and get ready to make this Valentine’s Day go down in history.

Heart Shaped Delights

Whether it be pancakes, French toast, biscuits, or plain buttered toast when it’s in the shape of a heart then that means you are loved. Just grab a heart shaped cookie cutter and go at it! This is also tons of fun for the kids to do if they want to get in on the action. You might also have the kids add a little bit of red food coloring to the pancake batter or use red velvet cake mix to make the pancake hearts even more festive. Here is a great red velvet pancake recipe from Cooking Classy that will leave your heart pounding http://www.cookingclassy.com/2012/12/red-velvet-pancakes-with-cream-cheese-glaze.

Hot and Steamy Love

Why not whip up a nice hot cup of cocoa or an extra special peppermint mocha coffee? To make either drink stand out for the holiday add a heart shaped marshmallow that will float his boat, or if you feel up to it add a splash of kahlua or chocolate liquor to your cocoa or coffee to get things warmed up a bit faster. And if you want to get a lot fancier than a hot chocolate packet here’s Martha Stewart’s suggestion for the perfect cup of Valentine’s Cocoa http://www.marthastewart.com/333081/hot-chocolate-with-marshmallow-hearts?crlt.pid=camp.mwKCD3jqfmvY

Shot Through the Heart

So maybe you are not in the mood to be Martha Stewart or frankly you don’t have the time. Jump in the car and go to your closest Dunkin Donuts, grab a box of munchkins, throw them on a skewer with a paper arrowhead and paper feathers to create your own cupid arrow that will ensure that you capture your lover’s heart. Love Is Even Better with Bacon

If your lover is a protein junkie then throw some eggs and bacon their way Lover’s Style. Just scramble up a batch of eggs, fry up some bacon and then arrange the bacon in the shape of a heart on top of the eggs. Quick, simple, easy and it will provide the energy needed for after breakfast in bed activities. Bring on the bacon….or sausage!

No matter what you choose to put in your lover's lap for breakfast in bed it is truly the thought that counts.  We all want to be pampered and even if it's just a glass of juice and a bowl of cereal we all want breakfast in bed because it gives us a reason to cuddle a little closer, kiss a little longer and just be with the one we love.  Happy Valentine's Day!
